The Family Planning Program is a general revenue-funded, limited-benefit program that serves uninsured men and women across Texas.

 

Services covered include:

    • Birth control
    • Cancer screenings
    • Chronic disease testing
      & treatment

 

Vital healthcare source for under-resourced
Texans:

  • Serves approximately 114,000 clients each year
  • It operates through 193 healthcare locations

 

Program Stabilization:

  • The 88th legislature made huge investments in this program to stabilize providers who were consistently exceeding their contracts and absorbing costs

 

Future Needs:

  • There is a shortage of providers, particularly in West Texas & the Panhandle, with 74% of Texas counties lacking an FPP provider
